My images capture memories, experiences and emotions through bold, figurative imagery. Using the form and symbolism of real and mythical creatures, I strive to animate the ineffable. Although self reflection is a key part of the creative process I do not believe I own the definitive meaning behind each piece. I may have pinned it to a page but it is the reactions of others that carries the work forward.
Clear black and white lines are controlled and precise embodying purity and strength. Some pieces go no further in their construction whereas others are lifted from the canvas with colour and paste; their lines and contours sculpted by palette knife. Washes of paint allow for unanticipated elements of the image to emerge.
I simply want to share something born of the joy in being a little creative each day. To impart a sense of the freedom you feel when you are doing something you love.
